Above is an "Old Fashioned" which I find very appropriate for celebrating the annulment of an antiquated law and set of ideals. To make, start off by muddling a slice of orange, 3 brandied cherries, 5 dashes of angostura or orange bitters and a teaspoon of sugar. Fill the glass with crushed ice and pour in 4 ounces of Bourbon or Rye whiskey.
Below is a simple drink I came up with using my favorite gin, "Hendrick's". To make, pour 2 ounces of fresh squeezed mandarin orange juice, 3 ounces of gin and a teaspoon of agave nectar or simple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into a high-ball glass filled with crushed ice and top off with soda water. Garnish with an orange slice.
